Mr. Paine was the President of the Knoxville and Tennessee Bar Associations. He is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, a member of the American Law Institute, and Reporter to the Supreme Court Rules Commission. Mr. Paine received the only Chancellor's award given to an adjunct faculty member at U.T.

Mr. Pera chairs the TBA Committee that drafted the new Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct and works with a similar ABA group.  He is co-author of a national ethics newsletter.

Ms. Sheppeard, a past President of the Knoxville Bar Association, is a civil trial specialist and Rule 31 Mediator listed by the Tennessee Supreme Court. She practices in the areas of Domestic Relations, Personal Injury, Probate, and Commercial Law. She is Chair of the Tennessee Judicial Evaluation Commission, was a member of the Tennessee Law Review, and is a Fellow of the Tennessee Bar Foundation.
